Rapidcut have recently taken delivery of and implemented a computerised production planning system. Faced with an increasing workload and expansion in several departments, it was becoming increasingly difficult to plan and manage the jobs. Enter MieTrack, a computerised planning system that handles every job from quote to final depatch. Every job can be quoted more quickly and accurately than we could before, scheduled into the production process, bottlenecks identified, materials orded and the work orders issued, from a single, unified application. For our customers this means we can predict with greater surety when orders will be despatched and identify potential production bottlenecks before they occur. A barcod based job tagging system allows production staff to log on and off jobs, so we know not only at what stage a job is in the process, but also how many hours wer worked on it and by whom. The MieTrack system will form the backbone of our ISO9000 Quality System, helping us deliver the right product, on time, every time. |

We recently have acquired a LVD 3050mm 100 tonne CNC pressbrake to increase capacity in the forming section. Our exisiting press was already utilised 6am to 6pm and we were having to turn down work due to lack of capacity. The new machine should give us room for more jobs, as well as an improved performance, with more tonnage than our smaller press. The purchase of the machine will also allow us to take on bigger sections, and architecural panel work. |
